Enfold Desktop just uses the workflow states defined on the Workflow in Plone. If you change the Workflow in Plone by adding or removing states, or even switching to an entirely different workflow, it will reflect immediately in Enfold Desktop. -- Sidnei da Silva Enfold Systems http://enfoldsystems.com Fax +1 832 201 8856 Office +1 713 942 2377 Ext 214 From michael.milne at gmail.com Fri Jul 6 07:33:41 2007 From: michael.milne at gmail.com (michael nt milne) Date: Fri, 6 Jul 2007 13:33:41 +0100 Subject: [Community-desktop] How easy to add in a custom archive state into ED? A user wished to create a new, modified version of an older excel file. Please note the following steps: 1. User saves file in Enfold (only description I have). I am assuming this means she uploaded new file via drag-n-drop 5. User checks in all files that were checked out. 6. Desktop version 3.0 Plone 2.5 A user last week did the following. I am not running debug mode currently, and for some reason there is a gap in my event.log from 6/26 to 7/4. A user wished to create a new, modified version of an older excel file. Please note the following steps: 1. User opens older excel file(let's call it spreadsheet1.xls) using Enfold Desktop browser. 2. User saves the file locally as spreadsheet2.xls 3. User modifies file by adding 2 new lines. 4. User saves file in Enfold (only description I have). I am assuming this means she uploaded new file via drag-n-drop 5. User checks in all files that were checked out. 6. User changes older file to private and marks new as visible Problem: a few days later it is noticed that the new file that she saved to Plone via Enfold DT is not there (spreadsheet2.xls), but the older file is present and now visible (spreadsheet1.xls, previously marked private). She claims that she verified ttw that all files were present previously. I have a feeling this may be user error; your previous response indicates the error that may have occurred. Can someone just offer an explanation as to what may be happening in this situation and if this is a bug or perhaps a remedial training issue. Or better yet, ask the user to do so. If it's a bug, you should be able to reproduce it. If the problem doesn't happen, either it was user error, or the bug requires such unusual conditions that it may not be worth worrying about, at least until it happens again. And then the user may notice and remember more details to help reproduce the problem. Hope that helps. 6. Keith, did you install the server products into your Zope instance? You do not need to purchase a license for less than five users but you do need to install the server side products. http://www.enfoldsystems.com/Products/Desktop/Documentation/Server/Install Download and install the proper server components found here http://www.enfoldsystems.com/Products/Desktop/Download. I'm trying to setup Enfold Desktop for use with a stock Plone 2.5installation on Windows 2003 Server. It's working fine on an XP workstation, but following the same instructions on the server, I get the license error below. I've added the license key registry entry using a Domain Admin account, verified that the account has access to the key and to the files, but am still getting this error. What else can I check? Or better yet, ask the user to do so. If it's a bug, you should be able to reproduce it. If the problem doesn't happen, either it was user error, or the bug requires such unusual conditions that it may not be worth worrying about, at least until it happens again. And then the user may notice and remember more details to help reproduce the problem. Hope that helps.
