[Community-desktop] file goes missing

Brad:

Try doing the same steps again. Or better yet, ask the user to do so. If
it's a bug, you should be able to reproduce it.

If the problem doesn't happen, either it was user error, or the bug
requires such unusual conditions that it may not be worth worrying
about, at least until it happens again. And then the user may notice and
remember more details to help reproduce the problem.

Hope that helps.

Subject: [Community-desktop] file goes missing

Any thoughts?

Desktop version 3.0
Plone 2.5

A user last week did the following. I am not running debug mode
currently, and for some reason there is a gap in my event.log from 6/26
to 7/4.

A user wished to create a new, modified version of an older excel file.
Please note the following steps:

1. User opens older excel file(let's call it spreadsheet1.xls) using
Enfold Desktop browser.

2. User saves the file locally as spreadsheet2.xls

3. User modifies file by adding 2 new lines.

4. User saves file in Enfold (only description I have). I am assuming
this means she uploaded new file via drag-n-drop

5. User checks in all files that were checked out.

6. User changes older file to private and marks new as visible

Problem: a few days later it is noticed that the new file that she saved
to Plone via Enfold DT is not there (spreadsheet2.xls), but the older
file is present and now visible (spreadsheet1.xls, previously marked
private). She claims that she verified ttw that all files were present
previously.

I have a feeling this may be user error; your previous response
indicates the error that may have occurred. Can someone just offer an
explanation as to what may be happening in this situation and if this is
a bug or perhaps a remedial training issue. Thank you!
