Message-ID: <8EAFFDDE9BE27F4C8B1A3022FEAA6382728F01@hal.enfoldsystems.local> I'm a technical writer for Enfold Desktop, and I'll be totally redoing the documentation for the next version of Enfold Desktop. When it's done, it will be available both as local documentation and on the Enfold website. I'd like to hear some feedback from users before I start. Specifically: - what things did you find tricky about using Enfold Desktop when you started? - do you have any tricks or tips or workarounds to offer? - can you think of any information you think might help users (or something which you were curious about yourself)? Feel free to write me privately robert at enfoldsystems.com or to send publicly to this list. By the way, I just completed a complete revision of documentation for two other Enfold products -- Enfold Server and Enfold Proxy. It includes a lot more FAQ and troubleshooting docs as well as a description of best practices. http://www.enfoldsystems.com/software/server/docs/4.0/ http://www.enfoldsystems.com/software/proxy/docs/4.0/ Although these documents pertain to the 4.0 release (and are included when you install 4.0 versions), in fact, many of these docs are still relevant to people running older versions of the software. With the version 4 RC2 build 8227 release, I could cut/copy/paste html files to and from my WinXP desktop and an older Plone 2.0.5 site. Content transferred back and forth just fine. With the new version 4 stable release (build 8436), I can copy/paste content from my desktop to the Plone site just fine. However, if I copy/paste an html file FROM the Plone site TO my desktop, not only do I get the content but I also get all of the Plone skin wrapped around the content. For reference purposes: RC2 build 8227 version 4 release: http://liquid.homelinux.org/files/aaeditorial-with-beta-4-release.html.txt (5 K) Stable 4 build 8436 release: http://liquid.homelinux.org/files/aaeditorial-with-stable-4-release.html.txt (108 K) My platform is Windows XP SP2 with Enfold Desktop 4 and a Plone 2.0.5 site. Questions: 1) Is there a fix for this so that I can continue to use the Stable 4 version with my Plone 2.0.5 site? 2) If not, does someone have a copy of the version 4 RC2 build 8227 so that I can continue to use Enfold Desktop with my older Plone 2.0.5 site? When it's done, it will be available both as local documentation and on the Enfold website. I'd like to hear some feedback from users before I start. Feel free to write me privately robert at enfoldsystems.com or to send publicly to this list. Thanks for your help.
